TRANSFREIGHT develops its multimodal transportation

From next July, Transfreight Europe, who has been one of Toyota Motor Europe’s Logistics partners since 2000, will implement a rail line route to supply Toyota’s Valenciennes (FR) and Burnaston (UK) production plants.

Four containers will be forwarded on round-trips daily, from Monday to Friday, from Mouguerre (FR-64) to Dourges (FR-62). A shuttle system will complete the loop to the Transfreight Petite-Foret (FR-59) site, close to Valenciennes.

Transfreight, already established in the South-West and in the North of France at Delta 3, currently run the Iberian flow by road. This train project is in line with Toyota Motor Europe and Transfreight’s environmental policy of CO2 emissions reductions.

This multi-modal project is a first step for the company expecting some rail expansion to UK, Eastern Europe, Russia and as well as to Japan. And it also represents a successful long-term partnership with its customer.
